Meet Me
I’m Monique Low - massage therapist, skincare formulator and mum of three nearly-grown humans.
I’ve been working full time in this industry since 2007. This isn’t something I fell into - it’s a craft I’ve built over years of hands on experience. I’ve worked with people from all walks of life, including world-class musicians, athletes and artists. The kind of work where skill matters and trust is earned.
I’m based in Hawke’s Bay, though I grew up in a big Horowhenua family - nine kids. You learn pretty quickly how to get on with things, think for yourself and not shy away from hard work. That’s stayed with me.
My approach has never been about following routines or trends. It’s about understanding the body, paying attention and working with what’s actually in front of me. The body holds patterns - physical, emotional, energetically and everything in between - and over time, I’ve learnt how to work with all of it - not just what’s obvious.
In 2016, my work deepened. One of my children became unwell and I found myself immersed in plant medicine - not out of curiosity but necessity. I studied, formulated and tested everything carefully. Over time, I watched them recover. That experience shaped how I work with skin - with a deep respect for the plants and ingredients I use and a clear understanding of what they’re there to do.
From there, my work expanded again. Alongside hands on treatment, I incorporate Brainspotting - a gentle, focused approach that supports the body in processing deeper layers of stored stress and trauma. It’s quiet work, often subtle and guided by what the body is ready for. There’s no forcing, no pushing - just creating the right conditions for things to shift and settle in their own time.
These days, I split my time between the treatment room, teaching and making small-batch products - often using herbs I’ve grown myself. It’s a more intentional way of working, grounded in respect for the process, the ingredients and the people I’m creating for.
I’m grounded in what I do, and I stand by it.
I want other women to feel that same confidence - in their hands, their intuition and their ability to build a business that actually supports them.
Thanks for being here - it genuinely means a lot.
Monique
